Blue Planet Aquarium seeks an Aquarium Scuba Diver Part Time

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at our flagship visitor attraction located in North West England at Cheshire Oaks for a Part Time Diver to join its team.
About Blue Planet Aquarium
Blue Planet Aquarium is home to over 100 living displays across 16 themed zones taking guests on a journey of underwater discovery. It is home to Europe’s largest collection of sharks housed in one of Europe’s largest underwater tunnel exhibit.
About the role
This is a unique opportunity to work with a vast array of exotic animals and sharks housed in a 3.8 million litre exhibition display.
You will be responsible for the daily management of briefing and guiding diving experiences in our underwater tunnel exhibit and ensuring consistently high standards of presentation and guest delivery. Briefing guests and conducting shark dives you will be key to delivering memorable experiences.
Other responsibilities will include the maintenance and cleaning of our main exhibit and scuba diving as part of our aqua theatre shows.
The post is Part Time, with weekend and evening shifts on a rota’d basis.
About you
You will have knowledge of diving equipment to ensure correct maintenance is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and HSE regulations and will be a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor or equivalent and hold an up to date HSE medical.
You will have significant experience as a diver both in practice and in theory and be able to demonstrate this through your personal dive log book.
You will need to be a good communicator with the ability to deliver diving briefs, create amazing guest interaction and dive experiences and have a working knowledge of the correct use of dive equipment.
A good understanding of dive profiles, dive logging and dive theory to ensure dives are within company policies will also be required.
As this is an active role, you must be physically fit and capable of working with others. A flexible approach to working hours is also essential.
The Company does not contribute towards any relocation costs to the area. You must have or be able to get a valid work permit for the UK to be considered for this position.
