Blue Planet Aquarium has officially been hosting shark dive experiences for 20 years! With the first dive experience in August 2000, this month marks the 20 year anniversary of our extremely popular, PADI recognised shark dive experiences. The dive team have proudly received a 20year trophy of recognition from PADI for hosting the experiences.

Tequila Splitfin: Facing Extinction for 20 Years

The Tequila splitfin (Zoogoneticus tequila), is a small freshwater fish measuring up to 8cm long – with females being slightly larger than males. They are endemic to the Teuchitlan Springs in the upper Ameca river basin in Mexico, where they inhabit small lakes, tributaries and freshwater springs.
